While there are many ways to juice, we choose to blenderize our organic vegetables, instead of using a juice extractor like a centrifugal juicer or cold press. Blenderizing releases the anti-cancer flavonoids so that drinking a cup of our juice is equal to eating five servings of vegetables a day. Also, by blenderizing the vegetables and fruit, it preserves the organic fibers. We need 30 to 50 grams of fibers a day. All soluble fiber lowers cholesterol levels, because they block cholesterol’s absorption from the gut into your bloodstream, and they also lower blood sugar levels by slowing the release of sugars from your stomach to your intestines. Fiber does much more than just lower blood sugar and cholesterol levels. Fiber rich foods, like our energy green supreme, contain thousands of anti-aging nutrients. In particular, plant pigments slow aging and oxidation. The blue in blueberry, green in kale, protect every cell in your body from aging. They protect your heart’s ability to pump and produce energy, and they decrease artery stiffening that occurs with aging, lower blood pressure, and prevent the cells lining your arteries from growing plaque. Because we blenderize our vegetables, we get the organic fibers that are also digestible by our gut bacteria. These good bacterias make short chain fatty acids, which help to inhibit the growth of bad bacteria, and increase our mineral absorption. Our good bacteria also use fiber to maintain normal bowel structure and function, preventing or alleviating colonic-based diarrhea, and stimulating colonic blood flow up to five-fold, as well as fluid and electrolyte uptake. Butyrate, the major fuel for the cells that line our colon is made by our good bacteria from fiber. We know now that what we thought was just fiber-pulp, in vegetables, is actually nonextractable polyphenols, a class of phytonutrients or phytochemicals thought to have an array of health-promoting effects may actually be due to the presence of these polyphenols. Most polyphenol phytonutrients in plants are locked to the fiber. They are released by the blending action of blenderizing, which mimicks the chewing actions by our mouths. This is never possible with cold press juicing. Dr. Mercola describes polyphenols or phytochemicals, as antioxidants found in plants. Antioxidants as a group help protect the cells in your body from free radical damage, thereby controlling the rate at which you age Blenderizing is important when you’re considering a detox “juice” fast or cleanse. Your liver filters toxins out of your blood, including pharmaceuticals, heavy metals, ammonia and chemicals. Your liver then dumps these toxins into your upper GI tract as part of a bile mixture used for digestion. Importantly, this reintroduces these toxins into your digestive system, where they can be quickly reabsorbed through intestinal walls and cause acute toxicity where you are essentially being "re-poisoned" with the same exact toxins your liver just pulled out of your blood. If you are using a cold press juice, you have no fibers to trap the toxins your liver is dumping into your small intestines. So those toxins get reabsorbed right back through your intestinal walls and into your blood. Bottom Line: You should only use blenderized all organic juice, especially when you’re doing a detox juice fast or cleanse, for maximum health benefits. The simplest answer is that local is not organic. We love the idea of local: it’s good for the economy, and the environment but let’s make sure we are comparing apples to apples. Don’t get caught up in the hype of local. Know the Facts. If you care about your health, nutrition, toxins and pesticides, INSIST on Organic and forget the hype. Natural Is Not The Same As Organic The word "natural" has become a bit of a loose term. Much like the term beauty being placed in the eyes of the beholder, what can be considered natural will vary from person to person. Since misuse of the word natural has literally zero consequences for companies, anyone can use the term pretty much however they see fit. The best way to keep the unnatural ingredients out of your body is to insist on organic.

"Bioavailability" is the ease with which any nutrient can make its way into your body- the absorption of the nutrient from the digestive tract into rest of the body. When a nutrient is highly "bioavailable," it can be digested and absorbed a high percentage of the time and in a dependable way. When a nutrient is poorly bioavailable, its digestion, its absorption, or both can be much more difficult and much less predictable. We strive to use supplements, and superfood boosters that are the most bioavailable in its class. Most of the vitamins on the market fall short of this in many ways. We only carry vitamins that are highly bioavailable, and formulated best for our body. Here are some very specific examples, though not exhaustive. B12 (methylcobalamin). Methlylcobalamin is the bio active form of vitamin b12. Cyanocobalamin is a man-made form and unfortunately, most vitamins contain this inexpensive form that our body can’t readily use. Folate (as Metafolin®* L-5-methyltetrahydrofolate). L-5-methyltetrahydrofolate is the bio active form of folate. Folate is very confusing for consumers because supplement companies use folate and folic acid interchangeably. They are not the same. Folate is the bioactive vs. synthetic for folic acid. Always look for the form inside the parenthesis. Dr. Joel Furhman writes in his book, Super Immunity, that long term use of folic acid increases a woman’s chances of breast cancer by 35% and men have an increase of prostate cancer by the same amount. It’s important to note that if you have the gene variant, MTFHR, your body cannot convert folic acid into folate. Folate and vitamin B12 work together. The body needs both, in the bioactive form to function. Vitamin K2- Whenever you take any supplement that has calcium, Vitamin D3, you should always have vitamin K2. Author Kate-Rheaume-Bleue, of the Vitamin K2 and the Calcium Paradox, write that taking vitamin K2 will move the calcium from your arteries, to your bones, where it is needed. Otherwise, hardening of the arteries may occur. Vitamin D3 spurs the calcium production in the body. You should make sure the vitamins that you are currently taking has these three forms of vitamins. Supplement Boosters: Cinnamon- The best form of cinnamon is Ceylon cinnamon. All the benefits of cinnamon is in this form. If it doesn’t say Ceylon, assume that it’s not. Maca root- Gelatinized maca is more easily digestible in the body. Gelatinized means that the starch has been removed.
