While there are many ways to juice, we choose to blenderize our organic vegetables, instead of using a juice extractor like a centrifugal juicer or cold press. Blenderizing releases the anti-cancer flavonoids so that drinking a cup of our juice is equal to eating five servings of vegetables a day. Also, by blenderizing the vegetables and fruit, it preserves the organic fibers. We need 30 to 50 grams of fibers a day. All soluble fiber lowers cholesterol levels, because they block cholesterol’s absorption from the gut into your bloodstream, and they also lower blood sugar levels by slowing the release of sugars from your stomach to your intestines. Fiber does much more than just lower blood sugar and cholesterol levels. Fiber rich foods, like our energy green supreme, contain thousands of anti-aging nutrients. In particular, plant pigments slow aging and oxidation. The blue in blueberry, green in kale, protect every cell in your body from aging. They protect your heart’s ability to pump and produce energy, and they decrease artery stiffening that occurs with aging, lower blood pressure, and prevent the cells lining your arteries from growing plaque. Because we blenderize our vegetables, we get the organic fibers that are also digestible by our gut bacteria. These good bacterias make short chain fatty acids, which help to inhibit the growth of bad bacteria, and increase our mineral absorption. Our good bacteria also use fiber to maintain normal bowel structure and function, preventing or alleviating colonic-based diarrhea, and stimulating colonic blood flow up to five-fold, as well as fluid and electrolyte uptake. Butyrate, the major fuel for the cells that line our colon is made by our good bacteria from fiber. We know now that what we thought was just fiber-pulp, in vegetables, is actually nonextractable polyphenols, a class of phytonutrients or phytochemicals thought to have an array of health-promoting effects may actually be due to the presence of these polyphenols. Most polyphenol phytonutrients in plants are locked to the fiber. They are released by the blending action of blenderizing, which mimicks the chewing actions by our mouths. This is never possible with cold press juicing. Dr. Mercola describes polyphenols or phytochemicals, as antioxidants found in plants. Antioxidants as a group help protect the cells in your body from free radical damage, thereby controlling the rate at which you age Blenderizing is important when you’re considering a detox “juice” fast or cleanse. Your liver filters toxins out of your blood, including pharmaceuticals, heavy metals, ammonia and chemicals. Your liver then dumps these toxins into your upper GI tract as part of a bile mixture used for digestion. Importantly, this reintroduces these toxins into your digestive system, where they can be quickly reabsorbed through intestinal walls and cause acute toxicity where you are essentially being "re-poisoned" with the same exact toxins your liver just pulled out of your blood. If you are using a cold press juice, you have no fibers to trap the toxins your liver is dumping into your small intestines. So those toxins get reabsorbed right back through your intestinal walls and into your blood. Bottom Line: You should only use blenderized all organic juice, especially when you’re doing a detox juice fast or cleanse, for maximum health benefits.
